Ingredients

  • 6 eggs, at room temperature
  • 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1 cup superfine sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon cloves
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • hot water
  • 1 ounce rum
  • nutmeg for garnish

Instructions

  1. Separate the eggs.
  2. Beat the egg whites with cream of tartar until a soft meringue forms.
  3. Gradually add the superfine sugar and continue beating until stiff peaks form.
  4. In a separate bowl, beat the egg yolks with 1 cup of powdered sugar until light and frothy, then add the spices and mix well.
  5. Gently fold the yolk mixture into the egg whites.
  6. In another clean bowl, whip the heavy cream with the remaining 1/4 cup powdered sugar until stiff peaks form, then fold it into the egg mixture.
  7. Fill a mug with hot water and add 1 ounce of rum.
  8. Top with a scoop of the Tom and Jerry mixture and garnish with nutmeg.
