Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp caster sugar
  • 1 orange, sliced into 1/4 inch slices
  • 1 tbsp juniper berries (optional)
  • Ice cubes
  • 1 oz gin
  • 1 oz red vermouth
  • 1 oz Campari

Instructions

  1. Sprinkle caster sugar on both sides of orange slices.
  2. Heat a non-stick pan and caramelize the orange slices for 2-3 minutes on each side.
  3. In a small saucepan, combine juniper, orange juice, and remaining caster sugar. Simmer for 5 minutes until thickened.
  4. Fill a glass with ice cubes.
  5. Mix gin, vermouth, and Campari in a jug, then pour into the glass.
  6. Top with the warm syrup and caramelized orange slices, then serve.
