Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup heavy cream (chilled)
  • 1 tablespoon confectioners' sugar (or to taste)
  • 1/8 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 ounces Irish whiskey
  • 1 cup hot, freshly brewed, strong black coffee
  • Granulated sugar (to taste)

Instructions

  1. In a medium-sized bowl, use an electric mixer or whisk to beat the cream, confectioners' sugar, and vanilla until soft peaks form, for about 2 to 3 minutes.
  2. Prepare a coffee cup or mug by rinsing it with hot water and then drying it.
  3. Pour 1 1/2 ounces of whiskey into the prepared cup or mug.
  4. Add 1 cup of hot coffee and sugar to taste to the cup or mug, and stir well.
  5. Top the coffee with a generous dollop of the whipped cream.
  6. Serve immediately and enjoy!
