Ingredients

  • 2 oz whiskey
  • 0.75 oz lemon juice
  • 0.75 oz simple syrup
  • 1 egg white (optional)
  • Lemon wedge for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. If using egg white, combine whiskey, lemon juice, simple syrup, and egg white in a cocktail shaker without ice and shake vigorously for 30 seconds to a minute.
  2. Add ice to the shaker and shake until the mixture is chilled.
  3. If not using egg white, combine whiskey, lemon juice, and simple syrup in a cocktail shaker with ice and shake until chilled.
  4. Double-strain the mixture into a chilled sour or cocktail glass, or into an Old-Fashioned glass over ice.
  5. Optionally, garnish with a lemon wedge and serve.
