Ingredients
- 1/2 cup pomegranate juice
- 1 orange, peel and juice
- 2 teaspoons honey
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 2 whole cloves
- 1 star anise
- 1/2-inch piece of ginger, sliced
- 5 oz. Cabernet Sauvignon
- Pomegranate arils, for garnish
- Orange slice, for garnish
- Cinnamon stick, for garnish
Instructions
- In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine pomegranate juice, orange juice, honey, spices, and ginger. Bring to a simmer and cook for 8-10 minutes until the honey dissolves and the spices release their flavors.
- Reduce the heat to low, add the orange peel and wine, stir, cover, and allow to simmer for at least 15 minutes. Be careful not to let the mixture boil.
- Ladle the warm spiced mulled wine into a mug and garnish with fresh orange slices, a cinnamon stick, and a few pomegranate arils.
