Ingredients

  • 2 large egg yolks
  • 1 tablespoon sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
  • 1/8 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 3 ounces freshly brewed strong coffee or espresso
  • Ground cinnamon (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a double boiler or heatproof bowl set over simmering water, combine the egg yolks, condensed milk, and sugar.
  2. Cook and stir the mixture until it thickens and coats the back of a spoon, about 5 minutes.
  3. Whisk in the vanilla, then remove from heat and continue whisking until light, fluffy, and doubled in volume.
  4. Pour the freshly brewed coffee into a heatproof glass.
