Ume Sour Twist
Leandro from The Educated Barfly challenged the creation of a unique cocktail using Japanese plum wine liqueur, Umeshu. The cocktail, named "You and Me," features rye whiskey, Nigori Umeshu, fresh lemon juice, housemade cinnamon & plum syrup, and walnut bitters. The Nigori Umeshu adds a fresh acidity and notable sweetness, complemented by the rye whiskey and a touch of cinnamon, resulting in a refreshing and flavorful Umeshu sour.
Ume Sour Twist
A refreshing and unique Umeshu sour cocktail with rye whiskey, Nigori Umeshu, fresh lemon juice, cinnamon & plum syrup, and walnut bitters.
Ingredients
- 1 oz Rye Whiskey
- 0.75 oz Nigori Umeshu
- 0.50 oz Fresh Lemon Juice
- 0.50 oz Cinnamon & Plum Syrup
- Dash of Black Walnut Bitters
- Half an Egg White
Instructions
- Combine all the ingredients into your cocktail shaker
- Dry shake (without ice)
- Add ice and shake a second time
- Strain into a chilled cocktail glass
- Garnish with a walnut
