Ingredients
- 1/2 cup orange juice
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1/4 cup dried figs
- 2-3 fresh sage leaves
- Pinch of ground cloves
- Ground cinnamon (optional, for garnish)
- Sugar (optional, for garnish)
- 3 oz Champagne
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, combine the orange juice, cinnamon stick, dried figs, sage leaves, and ground cloves.
- Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat and then remove from heat. Allow the mixture to steep for 15 minutes.
- Strain the mixture, pressing down on the figs to release any orange juice, and refrigerate until chilled, preferably the day before serving.
- If desired, mix ground cinnamon and sugar on a small plate for the rim. Moisten the rim of the flute with water and swirl it in the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
- Pour about 1/2 cup of the infused orange juice into a Champagne flute, then top with 3 oz of Champagne.
