Ingredients

  • 1/5 cup red Jell-o
  • 1/2 tablespoon unflavored gelatin
  • 3 tablespoons orange juice
  • 2 tablespoons tequila
  • 3/5 cup boiling water (divided)
  • 1/2 cup cold water
  • Whipped cream (optional garnish)
  • Maraschino cherry (optional garnish)

Instructions

  1. Place the empty shot cups on a flat surface and set them aside.
  2. In a medium mixing bowl, dissolve the red Jell-o in 1/2 cup of boiling water. Add the cold water and stir until fully combined.
  3. Fill each shot cup 1/4 full with the Jell-o mixture and refrigerate for about an hour until set.
  4. In another mixing bowl, sprinkle unflavored gelatin over the orange juice and allow it to dissolve.
  5. Add 1/2 cup of boiling water and stir until the gelatin is fully dissolved.
  6. Mix in the tequila.
  7. Fill the shot cups with the orange juice and tequila mixture until they're 3/4 full.
  8. Refrigerate the shots for 1.5 hours until set.
  9. Garnish with whipped cream and a maraschino cherry, if desired.
