Ingredients
- 2 tbsp granulated sugar
- 2 tbsp water
- 10 fresh mint leaves
- 5 oz non-alcoholic cider or prosecco
- 1 oz orange juice (or 2/3 oz triple sec)
- 1-1.50 oz mint simple syrup
- 1 lemon, thinly sliced
- 1/4 cup sliced strawberries or mixed fresh or frozen berries
- Optional: extra mint for garnish
Instructions
- In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the water, sugar, and fresh mint. Stir until the sugar dissolves, then remove from the heat.
- Let the mixture rest for 10 minutes, then discard the mint and transfer the syrup to a container. Chill in the refrigerator.
- In a pitcher, mix the berries, orange juice, lemon, and 1 cup of the simple syrup. If using frozen berries, no need to thaw.
- If serving immediately, pour the cider or prosecco over the fruit and serve chilled. For later serving, prepare the fruit mixture up to 8-12 hours in advance, then add the sparkling beverage just before serving.
- Adjust sweetness by adding more simple syrup if desired.
- Serve the Summer Berry Fizz over ice, and garnish with extra mint leaves or fruit if desired. Enjoy!
