Ingredients

  • 0.50 oz Absinthe (for rinsing)
  • 2 oz Sazerac Rye
  • 0.50 oz Simple syrup
  • 3 dashes Peychaud's bitters
  • 1 lemon peel (used as garnish)

Instructions

  1. Coat a rocks glass with the Absinthe, fill it with plenty of ice, and set aside.
  2. In a mixing glass with plenty of ice, combine Sazerac Rye, simple syrup, and Peychaud's bitters. Stir until well chilled.
  3. Empty the rocks glass, removing the ice and excess Absinthe.
  4. Strain the chilled cocktail from the mixing glass into the rocks glass.
  5. Garnish the cocktail with a twist of lemon.
