Ingredients
- 1/6 orange
- 3 whole cloves
- 5 oz red wine (inexpensive Cabernet or Malbec)
- 2 tsp sugar (turbinado is nice)
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1/2 tsp ground ginger
- 1/2 oz brandy
Instructions
- Pierce the orange with the cloves and cut it into half slices.
- Combine all the ingredients in a pot or slow cooker.
- Simmer the mixture on the stovetop for 20-25 minutes over medium-low heat, or in a slow cooker on low heat for 1 1/2 hours or on high for 45 minutes, until warm.
- Stir occasionally to dissolve the sugar and mix the ingredients.
- Once the mulled wine is aromatic, spicy, and hot (but not boiling), it's ready to serve and enjoy!
