Ingredients
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1.50-inch fresh ginger, sliced
- 1 or 2 jalapenos, sliced
- Salted chili sugar, for the rim
- 1 1/2 oz tequila
- 1/2 oz mezcal
- 1/2 lemon, juiced
- 1/3 cup pomegranate or cranberry juice
- Sparkling water to top up
Instructions
- In a medium pot, bring 1/2 cup water, honey, ginger, and jalapeƱos to a boil over high heat.
- Boil for 2-3 minutes, then remove from the heat and let it cool. This syrup can be stored in the fridge and makes enough for about 6 drinks.
- Combine the salt, sugar, and chili powder on a shallow plate and rim your glass, then fill it with ice cubes.
- In a cocktail shaker, mix 2-3 tablespoons of ginger syrup, tequila, mezcal, lemon juice, and pomegranate or cranberry juice.
- Add ice to the shaker and shake well, then strain the mixture into the prepared glass filled with ice.
- Top the cocktail with sparkling water, and garnish with mint. Enjoy!
