Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp salted butter (softened)
  • 1 tbsp powdered sugar
  • 1 tbsp light brown sugar (packed)
  • 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 2 tsp rum extract (or rum emulsion)
  • 1/2 cup vanilla ice cream (softened)
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • cinnamon stick (for garnish (optional))

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix softened butter, powdered sugar, light brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg until fluffy.
  2. Add rum extract and softened vanilla ice cream to the bowl, then mix until combined with only a few clumps.
  3. Transfer the buttered rum mixture to a sealable container and freeze until firm, approximately 2-4 hours.
  4. When ready to serve, boil 1 cup of water. Scoop approximately 1/2 cup of the buttered rum mixture into a glass.
  5. Pour the boiling water over the mixture and stir well.
  6. Garnish with a cinnamon stick for added flavor and as a stirring implement (optional).
  7. Serve as desired.
