Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 oz good-quality bourbon
  • 1 oz spiced cranberry simple syrup
  • 3/4 oz beaten egg white
  • 1/2 oz freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 2 dashes Angostura aromatic bitters
  • 1 dash orange bitters
  • Dehydrated orange slice (for garnish)
  • Ice

Instructions

  1. In a cocktail shaker, combine the bourbon, spiced cranberry simple syrup, beaten egg white, and lemon juice.
  2. Add enough ice to fill the majority of the shaker.
  3. Close the shaker and shake vigorously for approximately 15 seconds until condensation appears on the outside of the shaker.
  4. Empty the ice from the glass and strain the whiskey sour into it.
  5. Top with 2 dashes of Angostura aromatic bitters and 1 dash of orange bitters.
  6. Use a clean knife, toothpick, or straw to drag across the dash of Angostura to make a heart shape.
  7. Garnish the cocktail rim with a dehydrated orange slice and serve immediately.
