Ingredients
- 2 oz red wine (inexpensive Cabernet or Malbec)
- 1/2 tbsp sugar (turbinado is nice)
- 1/2 orange, sliced
- 1/2 tsp ground ginger
- 1/2 oz brandy
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 3 whole cloves
Instructions
- Stud the cloves into the orange, then cut the orange into half slices.
- Add the orange slices, sugar, ground ginger, brandy, cinnamon stick, and cloves to a pot.
- Pour the red wine into the pot.
- Heat the wine over medium-low heat for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally until warm and the sugar is dissolved. Do not let it boil.
