Ingredients
- 1/6 of an orange
- 3 whole cloves
- 5 oz red wine (inexpensive Cabernet or Malbec)
- 2 teaspoons sugar (turbinado is nice)
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1 tablespoon brandy
Instructions
- Insert the cloves into the orange and then slice the orange into half circles.
- Combine all the ingredients in a pot or slow cooker.
- On the stovetop, simmer the mixture over medium-low heat for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally until the sugar dissolves. If using a slow cooker, heat on low for 1 1/2 hours or on high for 45 minutes until warm.
- Once the mulled wine is fragrant, spicy, and hot (but not boiling), it's ready to serve and enjoy!
