Ingredients

  • 1 Honeycrisp apple, diced, peeled & cored (add in peel and core to simple syrup)
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 2 ounces tequila
  • 1 ounce Cointreau or triple sec
  • 1 ounce apple cider or apple juice
  • 1/2 ounce lime juice
  • 1/2 - 1 ounce honeycrisp simple syrup

Instructions

  1. In a small pot, combine all simple syrup ingredients and simmer on low for 30-60 minutes.
  2. Strain the syrup and allow it to cool before use. Store in a sealed jar in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 weeks.
  3. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add tequila, Cointreau or triple sec, apple cider or juice, lime juice, and simple syrup. Shake vigorously for 10-15 seconds.
  4. Mix cinnamon and sugar on a small plate. Moisten the edge of a lowball glass with a lime wedge and dip the glass into the sugar mixture.
  5. Strain the cocktail into the glass. Garnish with apple slices and a cinnamon stick. Enjoy!
