Ingredients
- 1 Honeycrisp apple, diced, peeled & cored (add in peel and core to simple syrup)
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup water
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 2 oz tequila
- 1 oz Cointreau or triple sec
- 1 oz apple cider or apple juice
- 0.50 oz lime juice
- 0.50-1 oz honeycrisp simple syrup
Instructions
- In a small pot, combine the apple peel and core, brown sugar, water, and cinnamon. Cook on low for 30-60 minutes to create a simple syrup. Strain the syrup and allow it to cool before using. Store in a sealed jar in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 weeks.
- Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add tequila, Cointreau or triple sec, apple cider or juice, lime juice, and simple syrup. Shake vigorously for 10-15 seconds.
- Mix cinnamon and sugar on a small plate. Wet the edge of a lowball glass with a lime wedge and dip the glass into the plate of sugar.
- Strain the cocktail into the glass. Top with apple slices and a cinnamon stick. Enjoy!
