Sparkling Minty Pear Tea Fizz
A delightful and refreshing beverage, the Sparkling Minty Pear Tea Fizz combines the sweetness of Asian pears with the invigorating aroma of fresh mint, and a touch of sparkling water for a light and effervescent experience.
Ingredients
- 1 black tea bag
- 4 oz boiling water
- 1 large Asian Pear, peeled and cored
- 4 mint leaves
- 1.30 oz simple syrup (recipe below)
- 3 oz sparkling water
- 1 tbsp + 1 tsp water
- 1 tbsp + 1 tsp sugar
Instructions
- Steep the black tea bag in 4 oz of boiling water for 4-5 minutes. Remove the tea bag and refrigerate the tea until chilled.
- Make the simple syrup by boiling equal parts water and sugar over medium heat until the sugar dissolves. Remove from heat and refrigerate the simple syrup.
- Purée the peeled and cored Asian pear until smooth in a blender or food processor. Strain the purée through a cheesecloth or fine metal sieve to remove any chunks.
- In a pitcher, combine the pear purée and muddled mint leaves. Stir in the chilled black tea and simple syrup, then return to the refrigerator until ready to serve.
- Just before serving, stir in the sparkling water and serve over ice.
