Sparkling Berry Bliss Sangria
A light and fruity sangria made with Spanish Cava, fresh citrus, and sweet strawberry syrup, perfect for brunch or celebrations.
Ingredients
- 2-3 slices ripe strawberries
- 2-3 slices lemon
- 2-3 slices orange
- 1 1/2 oz strawberry syrup
- 1/2 oz Cointreau
- 1-2 fresh strawberries, sliced, for garnish
- 5 oz cava or other dry sparkling wine
- Ice
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, combine sliced ripe strawberries, water, and sugar. Heat over high heat until boiling, stirring to dissolve sugar.
- Reduce to a simmer and continue to cook for about 10 minutes, until the syrup is pink and the berries are soft. Remove from heat and let cool. Strain through a fine mesh strainer. Reserve strawberries for the sangria.
- In a pitcher, add sliced lemon, sliced orange, and the reserved strawberries from the syrup. Add strawberry syrup and Cointreau, then muddle the ingredients together.
- Pour in the cava and stir gently.
- Serve immediately by pouring the sangria into glasses garnished with a slice of lemon, a slice of orange, sliced strawberries, and ice.
