Southern Smoke & Maple Fizz

This cocktail, named the Nor’easter, was created by Bill Harden, a bartender based in Lexington, Va. It is a delightful mix of bourbon, apple brandy, Ancho Reyes, maple syrup, and citrus. The use of Ancho Reyes liqueur adds a hint of sweetness and spice, while the maple syrup provides a smoky sweetness to the drink. Bill and his wife Jessica, who are both bartenders, have brought their cocktail-making skills to TAPS at The Georges, a historic inn in Lexington, where the Nor’easter has become a popular addition to the seasonal menu.
