Smoky Jalapeño Paloma
A refreshing and spicy cocktail with a perfect balance of smokiness, sweetness, and heat.
Ingredients
- 2 jalapeños, halved
- Zest of 1 grapefruit
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup water
- 1 1/2 ounces silver tequila
- 1/2 ounce mezcal
- 1 ounce lime juice
- 2 ounces grapefruit juice
- 1/2 ounce jalapeño-infused simple syrup
- 1/2 ounce grapefruit liqueur or Triple Sec
- Ice, for serving
Instructions
- To make the jalapeño-infused simple syrup, combine jalapeño, grapefruit zest, sugar, and water in a small saucepan. Simmer until the sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat and cool to room temperature. Strain into a clean glass jar. Refrigerate for up to 2 weeks in an airtight container.
- In a shaker, combine tequila, mezcal, lime juice, grapefruit juice, jalapeño-infused simple syrup, and grapefruit liqueur. Shake well with ice.
- Double strain the mixture into a glass with ice.
