Smashed Berry Rhubarb Spritz
A refreshing and flavorful mixed berry cocktail with white rye, mint, and a touch of rhubarb bitters, finished off with soda water for a light, fizzy spritz.
Ingredients
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup mixed berries
- a few mint leaves
- 2 tablespoons simple syrup
- 2 oz white rye
- a couple of drops rhubarb bitters
- 1/2 cup ice cubes
- 1/2 cup soda water
Instructions
- In a saucepan, combine water and sugar to make simple syrup. Boil until sugar is dissolved, then let it cool.
- Divide the mixed berries into a tall glass or mason jar and smash them with a spoon.
- Add mint leaves and smash them in with the berries.
- Pour 2 tablespoons of simple syrup into the glass.
- Add 2 oz of white rye to the glass.
- Add a couple of drops of rhubarb bitters.
- Add ice cubes and soda water.
- Stir and garnish with mint leaves.
