Ingredients
- 2 oz strawberries, sliced
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 3/8 cup tequila
- 1/2 oz freshly squeezed lime juice
- 1/2 cup grapefruit soda
Instructions
- In a large saucepan, combine the sliced strawberries, water, and sugar. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
- Reduce the heat to a simmer and cook for 10 minutes until the liquid becomes dark red.
- Strain the syrup into a bowl, being careful not to press the strawberries to avoid clouding the liquid.
- Let the syrup cool down.
- In a cocktail shaker filled halfway with ice, combine tequila, lime juice, and 1/4 cup of the strawberry syrup.
- Shake well, then strain the mixture into a highball glass with ice.
- Top the glass with grapefruit soda and garnish with a strawberry and lime slice.
