Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp salted butter (softened)
  • 1 tbsp powdered sugar
  • 1 tbsp light brown sugar (packed)
  • 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp rum extract (or rum emulsion)
  • 1/4 cup vanilla ice cream (softened)
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • cinnamon stick (for garnish (optional))

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, blend softened butter, powdered sugar, light brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg until fluffy.
  2. Add rum extract and softened vanilla ice cream to the bowl and mix until well combined with only a few clumps.
  3. Transfer the buttered rum mixture to a sealable container and freeze until firm for about 2-4 hours.
  4. When ready to serve, boil 1 cup of water. Scoop approximately 1/2 cup of buttered rum mixture into a glass.
  5. Pour boiling water over the mixture and stir well.
  6. Optionally, garnish with a cinnamon stick for added flavor and as a stirring implement.
