Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup raw cashews
  • 1 teaspoon maple syrup
  • 1/2 vanilla bean pod, split lengthwise and seeds scraped out
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1.35 ounces vodka
  • 0.67 ounce Tia Maria (or other vegan coffee liqueur)

Instructions

  1. Soak the cashews in 1 cup of boiling water for 15 minutes.
  2. Drain the cashews and blend them with maple syrup, vanilla, salt, and 3/4 cup of water until smooth.
  3. Strain the mixture through a muslin cloth for extra silkiness.
  4. Set the cashew milk aside in the fridge.
  5. In a glass, add ice cubes, then pour in the Tia Maria and vodka.
  6. Gently pour 1 ounce of the cashew milk over the back of a teaspoon to create a layered effect.
  7. Stir before enjoying.
