Ingredients

  • Coarse salt (for rim)
  • Lime wedge (for garnish)
  • Fresh sage leaf (for garnish)
  • 1 1/2 ounces Reposado Tequila (Blanco works well too)
  • 1/2 ounce Orange Curaçao (you could also use Triple Sec)
  • 3/4 ounce Sage Syrup (linked to homemade recipe)
  • 1 ounce fresh lime juice

Instructions

  1. Rub the cut side of a fresh lime along the rim of the serving glass.
  2. Dip the wet rim of the glass into coarse salt, ensuring it sticks evenly.
  3. Create a garnish by twisting a large sage leaf into a rosette and pairing it with a lime wedge using a cocktail pick. Set aside the glass and garnish.
  4. Combine tequila, Orange Curaçao, sage syrup, and lime juice in a cocktail shaker.
  5. Add ice to the shaker and to the serving glass, then shake well for about 15-20 shakes.
  6. Strain the drink into the serving glass.
  7. Add the garnish to the rim of the glass and serve.
