Rosy Spice Infusion
A warm and festive non-alcoholic cranberry and citrus drink spiced with cinnamon and ginger.
Ingredients
- 1/4 orange
- 1 1/2 cups cranberry juice
- 1/2 inch cinnamon stick
- 1/4 inch piece fresh ginger, peeled and sliced lengthwise
- Sugar, to taste
Instructions
- Using a vegetable peeler or a sharp knife, remove a 3-inch-long strip of peel from the orange; set aside.
- Juice the orange and strain out pulp.
- In a small pot, combine orange juice, reserved orange peel, cranberry juice, cinnamon stick, and ginger.
- Taste, and add sugar if desired.
- Heat over medium-high heat until simmering.
- Reduce heat to low and simmer for 20 minutes.
- Strain the mixture and discard solids.
- Serve hot.
