Ingredients

  • 2 shots of espresso (or 1/3 to 1/2 cup very strongly-brewed coffee)
  • 1 tablespoon pumpkin purée
  • 2 teaspoons maple syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
  • Pinch of fine sea salt
  • 1 cup milk (any kind)
  • Optional toppings: whipped cream plus a pinch of pumpkin pie spice

Instructions

  1. In a large mug, combine the freshly-brewed hot espresso, pumpkin purée, maple syrup, vanilla extract, pumpkin pie spice, and salt. Stir until the mixture is smooth.
  2. Heat and froth the milk until it is very hot (but not boiling) using a milk frother or an alternative frothing method. Alternatively, skip the frothing step altogether.
  3. Immediately pour the hot milk into the coffee mixture.
  4. Serve topped with whipped cream and/or a pinch of pumpkin pie spice if desired, and enjoy!
