Pumpkin Harvest Elixir
A warm and inviting cocktail with roasted butternut pumpkin, maple syrup, and a hint of sage, reminiscent of a cozy evening in a log cabin.
Ingredients
- 2 oz roasted butternut pumpkin puree
- 1/2 oz maple syrup
- 1/2 oz extra virgin olive oil
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp freshly grated nutmeg
- 1 sage leaf
- 1/2 tbsp caster sugar
- 3 oz vodka
- Juice of 1/4 lemon
- 1 egg white
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- Roast the butternut pumpkin with maple syrup, olive oil, cinnamon, nutmeg, and sage until caramelized and tender.
- Cool the roasted pumpkin mixture, then puree it in a food processor.
- In a small saucepan, dissolve sugar in water over medium heat, then cool completely.
- Combine the pumpkin puree, sugar syrup, and vodka, and chill for at least 2 hours to infuse.
- Strain the mixture through a sieve lined with cheesecloth to remove solids.
- In a cocktail shaker half filled with ice, combine half of the vodka mixture, lemon juice, and egg white, and shake well.
- Strain into a cocktail glass and repeat with the remaining vodka mixture, lemon juice, and egg white.
- Sprinkle with extra cinnamon and garnish with a sage leaf to serve.
