Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 3/4 tablespoon black tea
  • Juice from 1 navel orange (about 1/2 cup)
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • Ice

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, combine water and cinnamon stick. Heat over medium heat until the water is about to bubble rapidly, then reduce the heat to a gentle simmer. Cover and simmer for 4-5 minutes with the lid slightly askew.
  2. Remove from heat, add black tea, and cover to steep for 4-5 minutes.
  3. Strain the tea and stir in the honey. Allow it to cool slightly.
  4. If using a cocktail shaker, combine half of the brewed tea, half of the orange juice, and plenty of ice cubes. Shake vigorously, then pour into a serving glass with ice.
  5. If not using a cocktail shaker, chill the brewed black tea in the refrigerator for 20-30 minutes. Then, stir in the orange juice and pour into serving glasses with plenty of ice.
