Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon matcha
  • 3/4 cup cold water
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 2-3 tablespoons homemade earl grey tea simple syrup
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 4 teaspoons of loose leaf earl grey tea (or 4 tea bags)

Instructions

  1. To make the earl grey simple syrup, boil water and steep the earl grey tea for 5 minutes in a small saucepan.
  2. Strain the tea leaves or remove the tea bags. Then, return the saucepan to the stove and bring it to a slow boil. Stir in the sugar until dissolved.
  3. Remove from heat and let the earl grey tea simple syrup cool completely before using it for the iced matcha latte.
  4. To assemble the iced matcha latte, sift the matcha powder into a vessel with a resealable lid and add cold water to make cold brew matcha.
  5. Seal the vessel and shake vigorously for 15 seconds or until there is froth on the top layer and no matcha clumps.
  6. Fill a glass halfway with ice, pour the cold brew matcha, milk, and earl grey tea simple syrup over the ice.
  7. Stir everything together and enjoy!
