Ingredients

  • 1 cup freshly brewed hot coffee
  • 1 tablespoon packed brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 ounces Irish whiskey
  • 2 ounces heavy cream (whipped into a thick, pourable consistency)

Instructions

  1. Fill a glass mug with hot tap water and let it sit to warm the glass. Then, empty the mug.
  2. Pour the freshly brewed hot coffee into the prepared glass mug, filling it about 3/4 full.
  3. Stir in the packed brown sugar until it dissolves.
  4. Stir in the Irish whiskey.
  5. Whip the heavy cream until it's thick and frothy, yet pourable.
  6. Gently pour the thickened cream over the back of a spoon onto the coffee, allowing the cream to sit on top.
  7. Serve the Irish coffee while hot.
