Ingredients

  • 1 lime, scrubbed and washed, plus wedges or wheels for serving
  • 1 1/3 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 1/4 ounces sweetened condensed milk (or, for a dairy-free version, use 1 1/4 ounces sweetened condensed coconut milk)
  • 2/3 cup cold water
  • 2/3 cup ice, plus more for serving

Instructions

  1. Cut off and discard the tips of the lime, then cut the lime into quarters.
  2. In a blender, combine the lime, sugar, sweetened condensed milk, water, and ice. Pulse 5 to 8 times, ensuring the ingredients are just combined without pulverizing the lime, to extract its flavor.
  3. Strain the mixture through a fine-mesh strainer into a large pitcher or bowl with a spout, using the back of a spoon to push out as much liquid as possible and discard the solids.
  4. Divide the drink among tall, ice-filled glasses, garnish with lime wedges, and serve immediately.
