Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups whole milk
  • 2 oz semi-sweet chocolate (60% cocoa solids) (or 0.6 oz milk chocolate + 1.4 oz dark chocolate (with 70% cocoa solids))
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons Baileys Irish cream
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 2 teaspoons Baileys Irish cream
  • 1/4 teaspoon chocolate flakes

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, heat the whole milk over medium heat.
  2. Add the semi-sweet chocolate and stir until melted and the milk is steaming, but not boiling.
  3. Stir in the vanilla extract and 2 tablespoons of Baileys Irish cream.
  4. Optional: Use a milk frother or immersion blender to blend until frothy.
  5. In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream and remaining 2 teaspoons of Baileys Irish cream until soft peaks form.
  6. Pour the hot chocolate into a mug and top with the Baileys whipped cream and chocolate flakes.
