Ingredients
- 1 stick (4 oz.) unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup light brown sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tsp ground cloves
- 1 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1 tsp ground allspice
- Pinch of salt
- 2 oz dark or aged rum
- 6 oz hot water
- Cinnamon stick, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine the butter, vanilla extract, brown sugar, spices, and salt. Beat until thoroughly combined.
- In a heat-proof glass or mug, combine the aged rum with 1 ounce (2 tablespoons) of the spiced butter mixture. Store the remaining batter in an airtight container in the refrigerator for future use.
- Top the mixture with hot water and stir until all the ingredients are well incorporated.
- Garnish with a cinnamon stick if desired.
