Hazy Hearth Hot Toddy
A comforting hot toddy with Irish whiskey, applejack, amaro, cinnamon syrup, and a touch of citrus, perfect for cold evenings.
Ingredients
- 1 oz Irish whiskey (preferably Connemara)
- 1 oz applejack (American apple brandy)
- 1/2 oz Amaro Montenegro
- 1/2 oz Cinnamon Syrup
- 1/4 oz fresh lemon juice
- 3 dashes Angostura bitters
- 3 dashes orange bitters
- 3 oz hot water
- 1 star anise pod, for garnish
- Small pinch of freshly grated nutmeg, for garnish
Instructions
- In a warmed mug or heatproof glass, combine the Irish whiskey, applejack, Amaro Montenegro, cinnamon syrup, fresh lemon juice, both bitters, and hot water.
- Stir the mixture briefly.
- Garnish the drink with a star anise pod and a small pinch of freshly grated nutmeg.
