Frothy Rum Delight
A classic holiday eggnog with a creamy, velvety texture and rich flavors, topped with freshly grated nutmeg.
Ingredients
- 1 egg, separated
- Pinch of salt
- 1 1/3 tbsp sugar
- 1 oz light rum
- 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 1/2 fl oz Canadian cream (35%)
- 3 1/8 fl oz Canadian Milk
- Freshly grated nutmeg
Instructions
- In a clean, dry bowl, beat the egg whites and salt until stiff peaks form; set aside.
- In another bowl, beat the egg yolks until light and gradually add the sugar, continuing to beat until thick and lemon-colored.
- Slowly stir in the rum and vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whip the cream until softly stiff.
- Fold the whipped cream and then the egg whites into the yolk mixture.
- Gently stir in the milk.
- Serve well chilled, garnished with freshly grated nutmeg on top.
