Florida Sunshine Whiskey Cooler
A refreshing whiskey cooler with black tea, peach nectar, and orange liqueur, inspired by Florida A&M's school spirit.
Ingredients
- 1.50 black tea bags or 1/2 tablespoon loose black tea
- 2 large mint leaves, plus extra mint sprigs to garnish
- Ice, as needed
- 2 ounces small-batch whiskey, such as Uncle Nearest 1884
- 2 ounces peach nectar (or mango nectar)
- 1/2 ounce orange liqueur
- 1/4 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
Instructions
- Boil 2 1/2 cups water in a kettle, then transfer 2 cups of hot water to a heatproof vessel.
- Add the black tea and let it steep for 10 minutes, allowing it to cool to room temperature.
- Use a muddler to lightly crush the mint leaves in a cocktail shaker.
- Fill the shaker halfway with ice, then pour in the whiskey, peach nectar, orange liqueur, vanilla extract, and 3 ounces of the prepared tea.
- Shake the mixture for 30 seconds.
- Strain the cocktail into a highball glass filled halfway with ice and garnish with a mint sprig.
