Ingredients
- 1 egg (separated into yolk and white)
- 2 tablespoons superfine sugar
- Pinch of salt
- 1/3 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/8 teaspoon grated nutmeg, plus more for garnish
- 1/3 cup brandy
- 2 tablespoons milk
Instructions
- Beat the egg yolk in a mixing bowl, then gradually add the superfine sugar, mixing until dissolved. Add the vanilla extract, nutmeg, and salt, and continue mixing until the mixture becomes thick and pale yellow.
- Slowly incorporate the brandy into the egg yolk mixture, followed by the milk, until well combined.
- Cover the mixture and chill in the refrigerator for at least an hour.
- Just before serving, whip the egg white to soft peaks. Gradually beat in some of the remaining superfine sugar, continuing to beat until soft peaks form again.
- Gently fold the whipped egg whites into the chilled egg yolk mixture.
- Serve the eggnog in a festive glass and sprinkle a touch of grated nutmeg on top for garnish.
