Ingredients
- 3.50 oz strong black coffee or espresso, or use instant espresso powder
- 2 tbsp golden caster sugar
- 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar
- Ice
- 1 oz vodka
- 1.70 oz strong black coffee or espresso, or use instant espresso powder
- 4 coffee beans
- 2 cardamom pods
Instructions
- Start by making the coffee shrub. Combine the coffee or espresso with the sugar in a jug and stir until dissolved. Let the mixture cool completely before adding the balsamic vinegar. Chill the mixture in the fridge, which can be done a day ahead.
- Place two martini or small coupe glasses in the fridge to chill.
- Half-fill a cocktail shaker with ice, then add the coffee shrub, vodka, and coffee or espresso.
- Shake vigorously until the outside of the shaker feels cold.
- Strain the mixture into the chilled glasses.
- Finish by topping each glass with two coffee beans and a cardamom pod.
