Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup dark brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 4 ounces freshly brewed hot coffee
  • 1 ounce Irish whiskey

Instructions

  1. Create the brown sugar syrup by boiling the brown sugar and water in a saucepan until the sugar dissolves, then letting it cool.
  2. Using a stand mixer or hand-held whisk, whip the cream with 1/4 cup of the cooled brown sugar syrup until it thickens.
  3. In an Irish coffee glass or mug, combine the coffee, whiskey, and 1/2 ounce of the brown sugar syrup to taste.
  4. Top with the prepared whipped cream and serve.
