This cocktail is a blend of Teeling Small Batch Irish whiskey, homemade spice syrup, and aromatic bitters, offering a rich and flavorful experience with a nod to the city's distilling heritage.
Dublin Spice Infusion
A rich and aromatic old-fashioned riff with Teeling Irish whiskey and homemade spice syrup.
Ingredients
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup demerara sugar (or Turbinado or light brown sugar)
- 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp ground cloves
- 1/4 tsp ground allspice
- 1 tsp grated dark chocolate (optional)
- Ice (1 large cube and small regular cubes)
- 2 1/2 oz Teeling Small Batch Irish whiskey
- 1/2 oz spice syrup
- 2 dashes Angostura bitters
- Cinnamon stick (for garnish)
Instructions
- Create the spice syrup by heating water, sugar, cinnamon, cloves, allspice, and chocolate in a saucepan. Boil for 30 seconds, then let it cool.
- Place a large ice cube in a rocks glass.
- Add ice cubes to a mixing glass, then pour in the whiskey, spice syrup, and bitters. Stir briefly to combine.
- Strain the mixture into the rocks glass and garnish with a cinnamon stick.
