A creamy, vegan twist on the classic White Russian cocktail with a smooth and indulgent flavor, perfect for the holidays.
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup raw cashews
- 1 teaspoon maple syrup
- 1/2 vanilla bean pod, split lengthwise and seeds scraped out
- Pinch of salt
- 1.35 ounces vodka (Russian standard)
- 0.67 ounce Tia Maria (or other vegan coffee liqueur)
Instructions
- Boil 1 cup of water and soak the cashews for 15 minutes, then drain.
- In a blender, blend the cashews with maple syrup, vanilla, salt, and 3/4 cup of water until smooth.
- Optionally, strain the cashew milk through a muslin cloth for a silky texture.
- In a glass with ice, pour the Tia Maria and vodka.
- Gently layer 1 ounce of the cashew milk over the back of a teaspoon onto the drink.
- Stir gently before enjoying.
