Ingredients

  • 1.50 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 1 cup 2% milk
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/8 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • A pinch of cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons semisweet or dark chocolate chips (optional but recommended)
  • 1.50 ounces (3 tablespoons) Kahlua
  • Whipped cream (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan over medium heat, whisk together the cocoa powder and 1/4 cup of milk until smooth.
  2. Gradually add the remaining milk while whisking until well combined.
  3. Stir in the sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and chocolate chips, and heat until the chocolate is melted, for about 2 minutes without boiling.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in the Kahlua.
  5. Serve immediately, optionally topped with whipped cream or marshmallows.
