Ingredients

  • 1.50 oz Rye Whiskey (Camus VSOP Borderies)
  • 0.50 oz Cognac
  • 0.25 oz Simple Syrup
  • 3 dashes Bitters (Peychauds)
  • 1 splash Absinthe (Lucid)
  • 1 Lemon Peel (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Fill a serving glass with ice to chill.
  2. In a mixing glass, combine the rye whiskey, cognac, simple syrup, and bitters. Add ice and stir until well mixed.
  3. Discard the ice from the chilled glass and swirl the inside of the glass with absinthe, discarding any excess.
  4. Strain the cocktail into the prepared glass.
  5. Garnish with an expressed lemon twist.
