Ingredients

  • 3 1/2 oz. coconut milk
  • 2 1/2 oz. coconut cream
  • 3 1/2 oz. condensed milk
  • 3 oz. evaporated milk
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • a pinch of nutmeg
  • 1 1/2 oz. dark rum

Instructions

  1. In a large saucepan, combine the coconut milk, coconut cream, condensed milk, evaporated milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon stick, and a pinch of nutmeg.
  2. Heat the mixture over medium heat, stirring frequently until it begins to bubble.
  3. Remove the pan from the heat, cover, and let it infuse for 30 minutes.
  4. Add the dark rum and stir thoroughly.
  5. Discard the cinnamon stick and chill the coquito in the fridge until cold, approximately 1 to 2 hours.
  6. Serve with a dusting of nutmeg on top.
