Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon loosely packed fresh lemon verbena leaves (optional)
  • Peel of 1/4 orange
  • Peel of 1/4 lemon
  • 1/4 teaspoon orange-flower water
  • 3/4 cup ice cubes
  • 1 tablespoon gin
  • 1 tablespoon whipping cream
  • 1/2 large egg white
  • 1/2 tablespoon lemon juice
  • Freshly ground nutmeg
  • Fresh lemon verbena sprig (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine water, sugar, and lemon verbena leaves. Add orange and lemon peels and bring to a boil, then simmer for 5 minutes. Allow the syrup to cool and stir in the orange-flower water.
  2. In a blender, combine 6 tablespoons of the syrup, 3 cups of ice, gin, cream, egg white, and lemon juice. Blend until smooth and foamy, then pour into a glass.
  3. Repeat the blending process for the remaining ingredients to make additional servings.
  4. Sprinkle the drinks with freshly ground nutmeg and garnish with a lemon verbena sprig, if desired.
