Ingredients

  • 4-6 medium sized cinnamon sticks
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 oz vodka
  • 1/2 oz apple brandy or Calvados
  • 1/2 oz apple juice
  • 1/2 oz toasted cinnamon syrup
  • 3/4 oz fresh lemon juice
  • Fresh apple slice or dehydrated apple chip, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Toast the cinnamon sticks in a dry pot until fragrant.
  2. Add water and bring to a boil, then stir in the sugar to dissolve.
  3. Simmer for 15 minutes, then let the syrup steep until deeply flavorful.
  4. Remove and discard the cinnamon sticks.
  5. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice, then add the vodka, apple brandy, apple juice, cinnamon syrup, and lemon juice.
  6. Shake well, then strain into a chilled martini glass or coupe.
  7. Garnish with a fresh apple slice or dehydrated apple chip, and serve immediately.
